New Projects and Yarn

I hope you all had a great holiday weekend.  We had a very nice one.  It snowed on Sunday, but none of it stayed, and we’re having beautiful weather so far this week.

I finished the Stained Glass Scarf last week and it’s blocking now. Because it’s double sided it’s taking a loooong time to dry. I hope to have the FO post this week.

After finishing the scarf, I started seaming up the Babette Blanket. It was a lot of fun, but I wasn’t making any progress on my knitting.

But then I remembered that I wanted to have the Katharine Vest done for a trip we’re taking to Chicago, so I cast on last Thursday.

What you can’t see in the progress photo is that this is my third attempt at the vest. I got about five rows into the pattern the first time, was making mistakes and ripped. I was up to the point shown in the photo above and was making multiple mistakes so I ripped a second time. Things are going much smoother this time. The actual lace pattern is very easy, but because of the decreases and two selvedge stitches kept on each edge, you have to read the pattern and count your stitches constantly. It’s been a long time since I knit lace and I’m enjoying it quite a bit.

You probably could guess what I got in yesterday’s mail. Yup, you’re right – yarn.

And four skeins of Peace Fleece DK in Olive for Cherie, from Rowan Vintage Knits.

Even though I did purchase yarn for a wool sweater at the beginning of spring, I do have plans for several spring/summer knits. See you next time with those plans!

    Lisa,

Love the yarn and I can’t wait to see the vest! Where do you buy your yarn from?

Your babette blanket is looking awesome! That Katharine vest is so pretty…one of my favorite patterns from the issue. And I love the colorway on your peace fleece. I might have to check it out the next time I’m at my lys : )

What a sweet baby blanket! So colorful! That will keep baby’s eyes occupied for sure 🙂

Have fun in Chicago. I went there in October with my SIL and we had a blast.
